- Description
- General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI), Poway, CA, is being awarded a Time and Material contract for Operational and Maintenance Services in support of Customs and Border Protection's (CBP's) Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS). The operational and maintenance support services allows the Contractor to provide the technical and engineering support, and repair services required to perform flight missions for the UAS aircrafts. The exact times and quantities of future deliveries are unknown at this time and therefore require a contract that provides the flexibility to order services as needed. Furthermore, it is unrealistic to anticipate costs with any degree of confidence. The total potential value of the award is $67,590,786, for a base and one option year period. The aforementioned services include initial flight operations for Libby Airfield, Fort Huachuca, AZ, and anticipated deployments in North Dakota/Northern Border and Southeastern Regions. This is a non-competitive contract action under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 (a) (2) (ii) - only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. A Notice of Intent to Sole Source was posted to FedBizOps on January 20, 2010 with a response date deadline of February 4, 2010. The United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Washington, DC is the contracting activity (HSBP1010C00071).
