- The U.S. Department of agriculture, Agricultural Research Service, Mid South Area, intends to issue a firm fixed price contract for a project entitled Replace Roof at Southern Regional Research Center. The work includes but is not limited to furnishing all labor, supervision, materials, tools, equipment, transportation, and other necessary work for removal of approximately 8,400 sq. ft. of the existing metal roof, gutters and down spouts at our Southern Regional Research Center in New Orleans LA. 70124, in accordance with provisions of Contract Documents. The period of performance is 180 days after receipt of Notice to Proceed (NTP). The Magnitude of Construction is estimated between $25,000 and $100,000. SET-ASIDE: This acquisition will be set-aside for Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business. All responsible businesses meeting the requirement may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. The NAICS code is 238160 and the annual size standard under the Small Business Competiveness Demonstration Program for this project is 14 million. The solicitation will be posted on FedBizOpps website at www.fedbizopps.gov on or about 07/15/2010. No paper copies of the solicitation will be issued. It is the responsibility of the contractor to check the website for the solicitation, as well as any amendments that may arise. A pre-bid site visit will be scheduled and information regarding the site visit will be provided in the solicitation package. It is highly recommended and strongly encouraged that all prospective bidders visit the project site, inspect and observe the site conditions, and review the project scope and requirements at the site prior to submission of bid. This will be the only opportunity to visit the job site prior to submission of bid. Bids will be due by 10:00 AM CST on August 16, 2010 (at the address shown in the solicitation package), unless the due date has been changed in the solicitation. Contractors are required to be actively registered in the Central Contractor Register (CCR).
