Description
Special Notice NAICS code: 334119 Description: The US Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity (USAMRAA) intends to award a Limited Sources requirement to a SUN approved dealer. The procurement provides for equipment to support the hardware required for the DOEHRS-IH Data Warehouse. This system is to be located in San Antonio, Texas. This hardware will be used for multiple environments in support of the Data Warehouse including development, testing, production test, and demo/training. The DOEHRS-IH data warehouse is defined as a single, complete, and consistent store of data obtained from a variety of sources and made available to end users in a way they can understand and use in a business context. The data stored in the data warehouse represent both current and historical snapshots of data over time. The following are the benefits of the DOEHRS-IH data warehouse: "Timely, accurate, consistent information; "Historical perspective; "Unified view of organization's information; "Easily accessible data empowers end users; "Ability to quickly respond to changing environment; and "Improved decision making. With the DOEHRS-IH data warehouse, the analyst: "does not have to search for the definitive source of data; "does not have to create special extract programs; "does not have to worry about integrated data; "does not have to worry about detailed and summary data and linkage "between the two; and does not have to worry about finding an appropriate time basis of data. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. This Synopsis is not considered a Request for Quotation or Proposal. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be honored. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government. If no affirmative written response is received within fifteen (15) days after publication of this response, the purchase will be awarded without further notice. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The Point of Contact for this action is Scott Comeau.
