- Description: The software is used for examiners in the cell phone forensic program. The United States Secret Service (USSS) Criminal Investigative Division (CID) under the Acquisition of Commercial Item procedures in FAR Part 12 in conjunction with the Simplified Acquisition Procedures of FAR Part 13 and the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), intends to award a sole source fixed price contract to Forensic Telecommunications Services for iXAM and iXAMiner iPhone and iTouch Examination Software. Due to the nature of this requirement, USSS believes there is only one responsible source capable of satisfying this requirement. Justification: iXAM and iXAMiner iPhone and iTouch Examination Softwar is proprietary to Forensic Telecommunications Services. Forensic Telecommunications Services is the sole developer and distributor of iXAM and iXAMiner iPhone and iTouch Examination Software. This will be an open market acquisition with the following Contract Line Item Number (CLIN): CLIN 0001: iXAM and iXAMiner iPhone and iTouch Examination Software including 1 st year maintenance, qty 48 ea. NO SOLICITATION OR REQUEST FOR QUOTE (RFQ) IS AVAILABLE. All interested sources must respond in writing with a full capability statement no later than 12:00 PM EDT, Tuesday, 6 July 2010. Responses must be submitted via email to the Contracting Officer, Linda M. Williams, at linda.williams@usss.dhs.gov. No telephone inquiries will be accepted. A determination by the government not to compete this requirement based on responses received is solely within the discretion of the Government. The government is not responsible for any cost incurred in preparation of responses to this announcement.
