Description
The project is located on the Kern River Ranger District of the Sequoia National Forest at Lake Isabella. From Bakersfield, CA drive 45 miles east on SH 178 proceeding through the Lower Kern River Canyon to the Lake Isabella area. A pre-bid tour will NOT be conducted, however, contractors are encouraged to visit sites prior to submitting an offer. The price range of this project is between $250,000 and $500,000. The estimated contract time is 210 calendar days. Estimated start work date is September 7, 2010. Issue date is approximately July 15, 2010 with an estimated close date of approximately August 17, 2010. This project is being issued unrestricted. Work consists of installation of two (2) water storage tanks, demolition of three (3) water storage tanks; demolition of one (1) large pressure tank (3360 gallons) at Tillie Creek CG; redrilling Pioneer Point CG vertical well; replacing the pressure tank and pump for upper bathroom #4 at Pioneer Point CG; demolition and installation of various control valves in Live Oak South and North Campgrounds and Boulder Gulch campground; installation of new pump controls and wellhead plumbing at Boulder Gulch CG wellhead, Live Oak South CG wellhead, and French Gulch Group CG wellhead; installation of a drain valve and valve box for French Gulch Group CG dead end lateral; and installation of BPD (Backflow Prevention Devices) at French Gulch Administrative site; all located on the Kern River Ranger District of the Sequoia National Forest around Lake Isabella. The tanks shall be installed at Live Oak South Campground - 60,000 gallons and Old Isabella Rec Area/Aux Dam - 30,000 gallons. At each site the existing tanks shall be demolished and hauled off of National Forest Lands. At each site either the concrete ringwall or grade ring with gravel; fencing, valves, and piping shall be demolished and removed. There are two (2) 40,000 gallon tanks at Live Oak South CG and one (1) 30,000 gallon tank at Old Isabella Rec Area.
