- This acquisition is an Invitation for Bid (IFB). IT HAS BEEN DETERMINED THAT COMPETITION WILL BE LIMITED TO 8(A) FIRMS LOCATED WITHIN THE GEOGRAPHICAL AREA SERVICED BY THE NEW MEXICO DISTRICT OFFICE, COLORADO DISTRICT OFFICE AND TEXAS DISTRICT OFFICES (EL PASO, DALLAS/FT. WORTH, HARLINGEN, HOUSTON, LUBBOCK, & SAN ANTONIO) AND OTHER 8(A) CONSTRUCTION FIRMS WITH A BONA FIDE PLACE OF BUSINESS WITHIN THE GEOGRAPHICAL COMPETITIVE AREA, AND HAVING THE ASSIGNED NAICS CODE. ALL OTHER 8(A) BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT (BD) PARTICIPANTS ARE DEEMED INELIGIBLE TO SUBMIT OFFERS. NAICS code is 237990/SIC 1623, with a size standard of $33,500,000.00. The magnitude of construction is between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00. Bonding will be required for this acquisition. Bidders attention is directed to Section 00100 in the Solicitation for information regarding a tour of the site. Plans will be issued on or about July 27, 2010 with bids due on or about August 26, 2010. This solicitation will not be issued on paper. WORK CONSISTS of the construction of approximately 3,000 feet of flood flow channel from the Los Padillas Drain to the Rio Grande. Work includes earth lined channels, concrete lined channels, articulated block channels, three opening concrete box culvert crossings at the Rio Grande Levee, and reinforced concrete pipe siphons with concrete headwalls and grouted riprap at inlet and outlet ends at existing drain crossings. This project will be advertised as an 8(a) Small Business Set Aside, Invitation for Bid (IFB). Proposed procurement will result in a firm fixed price contract. This solicitation will be issued via internet only; notification of Amendments shall be made via internet only as well.
