Description
The U.S. Army Medical Command (MEDCOM), Center for Health Care Contracting (CHCC) has a requirement for non-personal services to procure lodging and associated services for the Army Medical Department Center and School (AMEDDC&S), Army Trauma Training Center (ATTC). The ATTCs mission is to train Army Forward Surgical Teams (FSTs) and other clinical and surgical elements for combat deployment. The ATTC is co-located with Jackson Memorial Hospital and the Ryder Trauma Center, Miami, Florida. The ATTC requires a lodging support package to be provided by a local area Contractor within a trainees walking/commuting distance of the ATTC to accomplish its FST training mission. For purposes of this requirement, walking distance means any distance up to 0.67 miles each way. Commuting distance means a journey by courtesy shuttle of not more than ten minutes each way. The ATTC requires a minimum of 11 and a maximum of 12 furnished, double occupancy rooms in a secure lodging facility to house members of visiting FSTs who come to the ATTC for training. There will be a minimum of 12 FSTs and a maximum of 15 FSTs that will attend the ATTC per year. This means that the 11-12 double occupancy rooms are required at least once per month and occasionally twice per month. Historically, the 12th room has been required 3 times per year. FSTs will be comprised of 21-24 personnel and will stay for a maximum of 16 days. Because of the unpredictability of the training schedule and the short notice for arrival of some of the FSTs, the ATTC requires availability of these rooms year round. The anticipated contract period of performance will have a base year from 01 October 2010 through 30 September 2011, with four one-year option periods. The solicitation will be posted to the FedBizOpps website at www.fedbizopps.gov on or about 6 July 2010. Any prospective offerors will be able to download the attachments (i.e. solicitation, amendments, and any other documents) from the website. Telephone or written requests for the solicitation will not be accepted. All responsible sources may submit an offer which will be considered by the agency. The points of contact are Yesenia Rodriguez, Contract Specialist, phone (210) 221-5963, fax (210) 221-5402, email: Yesenia.Rodriguez1@amedd.army.mil and Dora Hernandez, Contracting Officer, phone (210) 295-4570, fax (210) 221-5402, email Dora.Hernandez@amedd.army.mil.
