- PRESOLICITATION NOTICE FOR NURSING HOME. The Department of Veterans Affairs, Alexandria VA Medical Center, is soliciting proposals to provide Nursing Home care for qualified Veterans Affairs patients for one base year and four one-year option periods. The contractor shall provide care that meets the health needs and promotes the maximum well being of VA patients. Nursing home care will be furnished to ensure the total medical, nursing, and psychosocial needs of VA beneficiaries. Physician visits, laboratory, x ray, and other special services for VA patients will be at the same frequency as that provided to other patients at the nursing home receiving the same or comparable level of care. In addition, the care provided will include room, meals, nursing care, and other services or supplies commensurate with the VA authorized level of care, without extra charge. The per diem rate(s) established in this contract will include the cost of medical care, emergency dental care, laboratory, x ray, and other special services authorized by VA. The Nursing Home facility must be within three (3) miles of the boundaries of the city of Lafayette, Louisiana. All contract details, which include full specifications and Statement of Work are included in the Request for Proposal (RFP). The Government anticipates the award of a Commercial Indefinite Delivery Requirements contract to the successful offeror of this requirement. The acquisition is restricted for small business set-aside. The period of performance is 01 August 2010 through 30 September 2011 with (4) option years. All work is to be performed in accordance with the Statement of Work. The designated North American Industry Classification Systems (NAICS) Code for this procurement is 623110. It is the VA Alexandria policy not to accept offers at prices exceeding the allowable prevailing Medicaid rates for this locale. All offerors shall be registered with the CCR database at www.ccr.gov to be considered for an award. This requirement is subject to the availability of funds. The Solicitation should be available on July 1, 2010 at www.fedbizops.gov with proposals due on July 14, 2010. Any amendments issued to this solicitation will also be available at the URL address and offerors are responsible for obtaining any/all amendments issued.
