Description
RECOVERY - PER FAR 5.7 THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY; THEREFORE FAR 5.203 DOES NOT APPLY. THIS OPPORTUNITY IS AVAILABLE ONLY TO CONTRACTOR(S) UNDER THE CURRENT CONTRACT NUMBER(S): Not Applicable The Nashville District U.S. Army Corps of Engineers intends to issue invitation for bid (IFB) W912P5-10-B-0012 for the fabrication and installation of upstream miter gates and culvert valve bulkheads for the Kentucky Lock Addition project. Bidders are advised that procurement may be either fully or partially funded in part by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 which contains reporting requirements. The overall scope of work includes the fabrication and installation of the upstream miter gates and two culvert bulkheads at the new navigation lock under construction at Kentucky Lock and Dam at mile 22.4 of the Tennessee River, Livingston County, Kentucky. Each of the upstream miter gates leaves is approximately 62 feet wide, 45 feet tall and weigh approximately 530,000 pounds each. They are to be fabricated out of mostly ASTM A709, Grade 36 steel. Other components of the gate assembly to be fabricated and installed include (1) the lower sill assembly; (2) both wall quoin assemblies, (3) two pintle ball assemblies, and (4) the upper anchor assemblies. The installation of all of these components will require the placement of 2nd pour concrete. The first pour concrete and associated metal embeds are to be constructed by a separate, ongoing construction contract (Thalle Construction Company) that will complete the concrete monoliths to which these miter gates will be attached. The two culvert valve bulkheads are approximately 16 feet wide by 16 feet high and weigh approximately 20,000 pounds each. They are to be fabricated out of mostly ASTM A709, Grade 50 steel. The total weight of the two miter gate leaves, their attendant components, and the two valve bulkheads is approximately 1,100,000 pounds. Water access to the project site is available. The performance period for this procurement is anticipated to be approximately 28 months. IFB W912P5-10-B-0012 is set aside 100% for small business concerns utilizing NAICS code 332312 with a small business size standard of 500 employees. From this IFB, the Government intends to award a firm fixed price contract. The anticipated release date for IFB W912P5-10-B-0012 is on or about July 23, 2010. The IFB documents for this procurement will be posted on the Army Single Face to Industry (ASFI) database. You can access these files from the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) website, www.fbo.gov. It is, and will continue to be, all potential bidders responsibility to monitor the FBO website for any amendments, updates, responses to questions and answers, etc. as the government will not be maintaining a mailing list. You are encouraged to register as an Interested Vendor in FBO. This can be accomplished by clicking on the solicitation title and clicking on the button titled Register as an Interested Vendor, and entering your business information. Bidders must be successfully registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR), www.ccr.gov, in order to receive a Government contract award.
