Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number is Q1300100075 and is issued as a Request for Quotation. This acquisition is open to large and small businesses alike. The NAICS code is 324121; the associated small business size standard is 500 employees. The government intends to award a Firm Fixed Price Contract as a result of this solicitation. The government reserves the right to cancel this solicitation. REQUIREMENTS: Products must meet SD DOT standards defined in Standard Specifications for Roads & Bridges, Division III - Materials Details, Section 880 - Aggregates for Asphalt Concrete (http://www.sddot.com/operations/docs/specbook/880DUAL.pdf). The government will pick up the material with government vehicles. The government will notify the contractor at least 1 business day prior to pick up. Material shall be available for pick up Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM MST, excluding federal holidays. Prices quoted shall be valid through 10 September, 2010. LINE ITEM 0001: Asphalt hot mix, Class G, Type 1, 64-22, 64-28, 58-28. QUANTITY: 300 tons (quantity variance applies, see clause 52.211-16). LINE ITEM 0002: Asphalt hot mix, Class G, Type 2. Evaluation will be based on the lowest price technically acceptable. Technical acceptability shall be evaluated based upon the contractor's ability to comply with all requirements stated in this solicitation. 52.211-16 Variation in Quantity. Variation in Quantity (Apr 1984) (a) A variation in the quantity of any item called for by this contract will not be accepted unless the variation has been caused by conditions of loading, shipping, or packing, or allowances in manufacturing processes, and then only to the extent, if any, specified in paragraph (b) of this clause. (b) The permissible variation shall be limited to: 3% Percent increase 3% Percent decrease This increase or decrease shall apply to each quantity specified.
