- J&A for USNS KOCAK Pursuant to 10 USC 2304(c)(2) Military Sealift Command has bilaterally executed modification P00200 to contract N00033-82-C-1019 for the operation and maintenance of USNS SGT MATEJ KOCAK. This modification extends the contract period by 135 days, until November 15, 2010. This extension is necessary due to GAO protests in response to the award of a contract under a competitive follow-on procurement. The protests resulted in a stay of performance that prevent the follow-on contractor from providing the contracted services. The current contract period of performance was previously scheduled to end on July 03, 2010. A lapse in service would have occurred without the modification to extend, and an insufficient amount of time remained prior to contract expiration for a competitive procurement of services to bridge the performance gap.
