Description
Arnold Air Force Base (AEDC), Tennessee, has a requirement to purchase a heat exchanger system that will properly control the temperature of gaseous nitrogen (GN2). The basic schematic of the proposed system is included below: THE NAICS CODE IS 332420 • Heat exchanger use GN2 & LN2 available for cooling. • Control temperature between 323 K and 218 K, with tolerance to +/- 1 K. • Transition from 323 K to 218 K in 30 minutes, with a maximum instantaneous rate of 3.5 K/minute. • Handle a nominal power load of 1800 W. • Handle a maximum power load of 2500 W, for up to 5 minutes. • Maintain pressure stability to +/- 5 Torr. The controls requirements for the heat exchanger system are as follows: • Be controlled by an industry-standard PLC unit. • Include a standard Ethernet connection for a remote HMI. The installation requirements for the heat exchanger system are as follows: • Must be skid-mounted. Maximum Dimensions(H: 7ft W: 6ft L: 7ft) • Must be movable with a forklift. • Power connection will be provided via a disconnecting 480V, 3-phase welding receptacle. • Interfaces: • 1" GN2 Line @ 100 psig (Type 1, Grade B per Spec MIL-P-27407) • 3/4" LN2 Line @ 25 psig(Type 2, Grade B per Spec MIL-P-27407) Please register as a source to be notified of RFP amendments, etc. It is the responsibility of the vendor (even those registered as a source) to check the FBO website frequently to ensure they have all the available information. THE SOLICITATION WILL BE POSTED ON OR ABOUT 13 JULY, 2010. It is anticipated that the contract will be awarded utilizing Price-Performance Tradeoff (PPT) with technical evaluations. Please review the solicitation and attachments for all of the source selection information. The ANTICIPATED RESPONSE DATE for the solicitation is 26 July 2010 no later than 1:00pm Central Standard Time with a delivery date mid October 2010.
