Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation number is RFQ-1682934 and solicitation is issued as a request for quotation (RFQ). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-42. The North American Industry Classification (NAICS) is 112990 and the Standard Size is $0.75 million. The NINDS Receptor Biology Section will be using Taconic to create a strain of C57Bl/6 knockin mice containing a specific point mutation in the gene GluA 1. The mice will carry the mutation S567D. NINDS Receptor Biology Section lab has conducted in vitro experiments using plasmids and heterologous cells containing this mutation and found that this phosphorylation site within GluA 1 is important for the synaptic targeting of receptors. The results of this data have generated several questions that can only be answered through experiments require a genetically altered animal bearing this mutation. The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), Office of Acquisitions Station Support Simplified Acquisitions on behalf of the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Strokes (NINDS) seeks to procure the requirement as described above. Quotations must be good for 30 days after close of solicitation. Shipping must be Free on Board (FOB) Destination and Delivery must be made within 30 days or less after receipt of order (ARO). Destination is Bethesda, Maryland. Offeror must provide within its offer the number of days – not to exceed 30 – required to make delivery after receiving a purchase order from the buyer. To be eligible for an award, offeror must be registered with the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) at website http:www.ccr.gov. The selected offeror must comply with the following commercial item Terms and Conditions, which are incorporated herein by reference: FAR 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors – Commercial Items; FAR 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and Certifications Commercial Items, must be included with its offer; FAR 52.212-4, Contract Terms and Condition Commercial Items, applies to this acquisition; FAR 52.212-5, Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statutes or Executive Orders Commercial Items, applies to this acquisition.
