Description
The Forest Service anticipates releasing a solicitation for the Situk River Wildlife Watching Area (WWA) Improvements project on or about August 3, 2010. All sources who are interested in bidding on and performing this work should visit this FedBizOpps site again at that time to obtain a copy of the solicitation package. However, an interested source must obtain the following four documents from a third-party source at its own expense: (1) SPECIFICATIONS; (2) DRAWINGS; (3) FINAL SUBSURFACE EXPLORATION REPORT; and (4) HYDROLOGIC AND HYDRAULIC REPORT. The third-party source is Digital Blueprint Inc., Suite 103, 903 West Northern Lights Boulevard, Anchorage, Alaska 99503; (907) 274-4060; http://www.digital-blueprint.com. Digital Blueprint does not accept orders over the phone, but requires fax or e-mail orders. These documents are ready now, and an interested source need not wait for the solicitation before obtaining these documents; indeed, interested sources are encouraged to obtain these documents without delay. The work location is on Forest Highway 10 on the Yakutat Ranger District of the Tongass National Forest. The work of the Situk River Wildlife Watching Area (WWA) Improvements project includes demolition of existing site furnishings (such as fire rings, campsite markers, culverts, and wooden bulletin boards), preparing the site for new construction (such as roadway obliteration, clearing and grubbing, and selective tree clearing/limbing/bucking), earthwork (such as excavations, embankments and fills, trenching and backfills, and subgrade establishment), construction of new crushed surface roadways, parking areas, pedestrian trails, and aggregate pads), construction of an in-stream boat launch, construction of new culverts, construction of battered concrete wall and log picnic structure, installation of a vault toilet, installation of new furnishings (such as bulletin boards, tent platforms, picnic tables, fire rings, log curbs, and signs), landscape restoration, and dewatering of excavations and in-stream work areas. The estimated price range of the project is between $1 Million and $5 Million. A sealed bid acquisition, with bid bond and performance and payment bonds is anticipated. A full and open competition is anticipated under the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program (Pub.L. 100-565 and FAR Subpart 19.10). Offerors must be registered in the Central Contractor Registry (www.ccr.gov) in accordance with FAR 52.204-7. Failure to register will result in the proposal being removed from consideration for award. No hard copies of the solicitation will be mailed. Interested sources should register to receive notifications through this site.
