- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format prescribed in Subpart 12.6 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This procurement is a sole-source procurement. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number is N40443-10-T-0203, and it is being issued as a request for quotation (RFQ). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-26. This requirement is not set-aside for small businesses. NAICS 335313 applies with small business size standard of 1,000 employees. The Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program is not applicable. Bid is due on or before 10:00 A.M. (PST), 22 July 2010.The government intends to make an award on, or about, 23 July 2010. This requirement will be procured under FAR Part 12. Solicitation will be available in the Contracts Section of the MSC Website (1102 page). Instructions for downloading solicitation from MSC website: http://www.msc.navy.mil/. Click on CONTRACTS (upper right hand corner of screen), Click on ACTIVE REQUEST for proposals, Click on MSC OFFICE LOCATION, Click on MSC PACIFIC San Diego, Click SEARCH, look for SOLICITATION NUMBER, Click on RFQ/RFP NUMBER, and follow downloading instruction for solicitation. 1.1 Military Sealift Fleet Support Command (MSFSC), Ship Support Unit, San Diego, CA intends to award a firm fixed price purchase order for the following work item for the USNS NAVAJO: 1. Item 001: Automation Controls; Repair Work Item/Specification to be attached to the RFQ in the MSC website, 1102 page. Please state shipping charges if applicable. The ship's availability period is scheduled for 08 AUG 2010 through 22 AUG 2010 for the above item. However, the contractor may be required to be on-board the ship, and perform the repairs, at some specific period within those dates. The contractor is to contact Fred Balagot, port engineer, and coordinate the dates for its visit. Contractor personnel may require Government documents (Visitor Pass) to access the Naval Station, San Diego, CA. If such is required, Visit Requests shall be submitted via e-mail to Mr. Fred Balagot, MSFSC SSU SD, (619) 524-9707, at Fred.balagot@navy.mil; not less then ten (10) working days prior to the contract start date. Visit Request shall include the contracted Period of Performance, plus five (5) days. The Visit Request will be forwarded to the Contractor upon notification of award.
