- Description
- The U.S. Army Contracting Agency, Directorate of Contracting, APG, MD intends to negotiate solely (as prescribed in FAR 6.302-1) with Weibel Scientific, Stumpedyssevej 40, Horsholm 2970 Denmark. The contractor shall provide Muzzle radar system, P/N SL-528P, includes: Doppler antenna low noise oscillator 0.5 W 28dB, 2 MByte signal memory, power supply, muzzle flash trigger radar, 4 each. Muzzle radar system, P/N SL-528P, includes: Doppler antenna low noise oscillator 15W 28dB, 16 MByte signal memory, power supply, muzzle flash trigger cable, 1 each. Muzzle radar system, P/N SL-30031P, includes: Antenna with processor, 30W 31dB, low noise oscillator, power supply, muzzle flash, 1 each. These radars are required in order to meet the increased demand for light indoor range testing. The radars are a new family of muzzle velocity radars by Weibel Scientific next generation of master oscillators that greatly reduce the background noise generated by the radar. This decreased background noise level adds 3- 6 dbs to the Doppler signal, making it possible to operate in the high noise environment of indoor ranges with test fixtures, fluorescent lights and other electrical devices on site. Additionally, this new family of radars will be used with existing Weibel radars (39 systems) and computers. No other radar other than Weibel would be compatible with existing radars and systems. If the suggested vendor does not receive award, no other vendor will be able to provide the required radar to allow for integration in the test range. This will cause significant program delay and duplication of cost in the way of unexpected program resources. Projects that experience significant delay due to this scenario may lose funding. The NAICS for this requirement is 334511. Responses to this notice must be received no later than 9 August 2010. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposal or a solicitation of offers. The point of contact for this action is Kevin Hawk, e-mail: kevin.a.hawk@us.army.mil. No telephone requests will be honored.
