- Description
- The purpose of this amendment is to address the following vendor questions/answers : Question: Based on the previous questions/answers provided, it is now understood that NIST intends to integrate the proposed system with their existing shaker, amplifier and reference transducers. In order to insure that quoter's are able to interface with the existing components, please provide the model numbers of the shaker, amplifier and reference sensors (if specifications for these components are not publically available online, also provide the specification sheet). In the case that these are components manufactured by NIST, please provide the pertinent technical specification and interface details. Answer: The power amplifier is a Crown DC300A Series II; the reference transducers are either a Kistler model 8002K or model 808K1; and the vibration generators are Dimoff electrodynamic vibration generators which were designed and have been maintained by NIST. The nominal maximum amplitude limits of the Dimoff vibration generators as a function of frequency are: 10 Hz - 2 gn; 15 Hz - 5 gn; and 30 Hz to 10 kHz - 10 gn. The input to the power amplifier is connected to the output of the function generator of the DSA; the output of the power amplifier is selectively connected manually to the drive coil of one of two Dimoff vibration generators; and the output of the associated reference transducer is connected to one of two inputs of the DSA. The software shall automatically select the appropriate drive voltage to the power amplifier as a function of frequency based on the measured output of the reference transducer and its calibrated sensitivity at select sinusoidal frequencies and amplitudes defined by the user - see specifications 4, Item 12, Item 13 and Item 24. The time frame for submitting questions has ended. The due date for quotes, August 5, 2010 at 3pm remains unchanged and only quotations received by the due date/time shall be considered.
