Description
The Purpose of these Amendments is to update the submittal date from 8/23/2010 to 8/16/2010. Change delivery date from 8/13/2010 to 9/1/2010. Also to answer the following questions The following have been added by full text: QUESTION AND ANSWERSQ1.) Please provide an approximate timing for this project and the expected duration that you anticipate that work will finish.A1.) Need project finished by mid September. Work must be completed in a 2 week time frame.Q2.) We noted Sandblasting of the Pipes to remove scales and rust etc? Would you prefer acid clean and then oil flush to sandblasting. We think the former will be better for your operation.A2.) Acid cleaning can be done as long as all the rust is removed completely. However if this process is done on site, the contractor must have proper certification for handling Hazmat.Q3.) Will you allow hydraulic VG 32 as medium of pipe flush?A3.)The fluid for flushing must be compatible with MIL-PRF-17331, symbol 2190 TEP.Q4.) What is the allowed working hours on site and can your contractor work late since the oil for flushing will be heated and you want to do a lot while it is still hot?A4.)Typical working hours are from 6:30 am to 4:00 pm. Since we work in a secure facility, the contractor must be accompanied by an NSWC employee at all times. Later hours are not preferred but can possibly be arranged if it is necessary.Q5.)Why do you want the spools transported out of site? This can be site cleaned also along with the pipes?A5.)We wanted to have the work done outside our facility for several reasons. We work in a secure area and all outside contractors must go through both our security and facility's people to get the proper badges and authorization to enter the lab area. Also, the hydraulic plant is located inside the building next to a high traffic walkway. If work is done on site it must be contained within the lab area and kept as clean as possible. The work can be done on site. However, the contractor must work in a designated area and cannot disrupt normal operations in our facility.
