Description
DRAFT Modified BRU-61/A Carriage Environmental Design Criteria DRAFT Modified BRU-61/A Carriage Performance Specification This is a sources sought notice only for market research purposes to identify interested contractors for the requirement detailed below. A formal Solicitation, with Performance Work Statements or Technical Exhibits is not available for review at this time. Information obtained from this sources sought notice may result in a future formal Request for Proposal. The Government reserves the right to set-aside any subsequent acquisition based upon known sources and/or responses to this synopsis. The Air Armament Center, Miniature Munitions Division (EBM), Eglin AFB FL is conducting research to identify potential sources that may possess the expertise, capabilities, and experience needed to develop and integrate a modified Bomb Rack Unit (BRU) 61/A for Navy and Air Force Small Diameter Bomb Increments I and II in accordance with the attached DRAFT Modified BRU-61/A Carriage Performance Specification and DRAFT Modified BRU-61/A Carriage Environmental Design Criteria. This modified BRU-61/A capability must maintain the same form, fit, and function as the baseline BRU-61/A; be backwards compatible with the current Small Diameter Bomb Increment I (SDB I) weapon system; and the impending Small Diameter Bomb Increment II (SDB II) weapon system. Contract activities up to $26 million over 4 years will result in the design, qualification, integration and test of the modified BRU-61/A onto the F-35B and F-35C aircraft. The modified BRU-61/A bomb rack will be capable of 4-place carriage of 250-pound class weapons and able to be carried both internally and externally. The procurement potential is for approximately 1,300 new units. Test assets are to be delivered no later than calendar year 2014, and production assets are estimated to begin in calendar year 2016. The Government will not compensate contractors for any required legacy BRU-61/A SDB I capability validation and verification (F-15E and F-22 aircraft). Additional objective aircraft platforms include but are not limited to F-35 A, F/A-18 E/F, F-16, F-15E, B-1, B-2, and B-52. Source must have SECRET facility clearance and personnel cleared to handle SECRET data. Only sources that meet the description of this requirement need to respond. Sources responding to this announcement should indicate their business size in accordance with the size standard; ensure that the company name, address, a point of contact with email address and telephone number, Federal CAGE Code, and Data Universal Numbering System (DUNS) number are included in the information. This is a Sources Sought Notice for market research purposes only and is not a Request for Proposal. No solicitation is being issued at this time and this notice shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation or ultimately award a contract. Participation in this sources sought synopsis is strictly voluntary and no cost or obligation shall be incurred by the Government. All interested parties should submit information that explicitly demonstrates capabilities and expertise related to this effort based on information identified above and state interest in participating in any future industry day(s). Responses are limited to 4 pages in length.
