- Diagram of installation area The project objective is to modify/extend the current Public Address (PA) System to cover Mod 9 on Schriever AFB. 1. The current condition of the existing Mod 9 PA system: •- The Mod already has a paging and background music system installed (TOA-BG-115, Located in the small room to the left of Zone 4 on the diagram). The contractor will install new modules into the amplifier to accomplish the desired capabilities, which are to be able to receive announcements from an external input and broadcast into all the zones as shown in the diagram. Ability to make announcements to internal system using the microphones that automatically interrupt the background music while the announcement is being made. •- Contractor may use existing speakers if operational ( All speaker appear to be opeational) however, the wiring has to be removed and replaced with new wiring. •- Speakers appearance must be similar in design to the existing speakers, which are standard plenum rated round speakers. White, Off-white or beige, or black are all acceptable color matches, but one color per room is desired. The existing colors of speakers are identified in diagram with a W for white or a B for black. •- Four new speakers are required to be installed and the twenty-one existing speakers need to be wired into the PA system. Some of the existing speakers will require relocation, according to the attached diagram. 2. Contractor shall •· Demod /Remove all existing speaker wiring •· Re-arrange existing speakers in the ceiling grid and replace any speakers and ceiling tiles that are inoperable/unusable. Move speakers (identified as black circles in the diagram) to be moved to area identified by the triangles. •· Provide and install four (4) new ceiling speakers ( identified as triangles with circles around them, on the diagram) install new speakers if any or all of the existing 21 speakers are not re-usable, (25 Total Speakers) cut new tile opening for the new ceiling speakers, as necessary. •· Provide, Install and run microphone cable through the "under floor trays" in room 11 into the center of the room as shown in the diagram. Floor trays are vented and can be accesses via floor tiles for installation purposes. •· Connect all speakers and microphones and ensure operability •· Create and Wire all Seven (7) speaker zones (as identified in the diagram) •· Zones are identified as follows: •· * Zone 1 includes Rooms 11 ( Main Ops Floor) and adjacent office spaces ( There are no walls in between) •· * Zone 2 includes Rooms 20,23,24,25 ( Floor to ceiling walls in between) •· * Zone 3 includes Rooms 22 ( North Conference Room) •· * Zone 4 includes Rooms 5 (South Conference Room) •· * Zone 5 includes Rooms 15, 16, 17, 18, 19 ( All MA areas) •· * Zone 6 includes Rooms 2 (Breakroom), 6, 7, and the Main Center Hallway •· * Zone 7 includes Room 21 (Ops Floor 2) •· Upgrade amplifier modules and re-wire zone attenuator panel •· Install interrupts for background music and microphones •· Connect/Test zone wire to amplifier mixer, adjust speaker volume •· Connect/Test microphones, CD music and Mute feature Note: Work will be performed in a restricted area and the end user will be performing escort duty for all work. Extra time will be required to enter/exit the restricted area.
