- The Department of Veteran Affairs, Center for Acquisition Innovation (CAI), Department of Veterans Affairs, Frederick, 7485 New Horizon Way, Frederick, MD 21703 intends to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) to provide Brand Name Only ammunition for 101,500 rounds of 9mm Remington Duty Ammunition, and Brand Name or Equal ammunition for up to 900,000 rounds of 9mm leadless training ammunition and Brand Name or Equal for up to 12,000 rounds of 9mm frangible training ammunition. The requirement will include facility, labor, materials, insurance, licenses, equipment and delivery to the Veterans Administration (VA) Law Enforcement Training Center (LETC), 2200 Fort Roots Drive, North Little Rock, AR. The NAICS Code for this requirement is 332994 (Small Arms Manufacturing U.S.). The period of performance is 1 October 2010 through 30 September 2015. This requirement is set aside for competition, restricted to Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB ™s) in accordance with FAR 19.1405. The statutory authority PL 109-461, Veterans First Contracting Program (codified as 38 U.S.C. 8127 and 8128), and will be procured competitively sole-source to a SDVOSB contractor who is registered in Central Contractor Registration (CCR) and registered and verified in the VetBiz.gov database. Request for Proposal number VA798-10-RP-0204 will be issued on or about 10 August 2010, with anticipated date of award of 15 September 2010.
