- BM1694928 - JOFOC The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS), Research Triangle Park, NC intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Leica Microsystems Inc., 2345 Waukegan Road, Suite 300, Bannackburn, IL 60015-5511 pursuant to 41 U.S.C.253(c)(1)--Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This new requirement is for the acquisition of Leica Microsystems Inc. Confocal Microscope spectral system for a NIH research program. The purchase is for 1 each of the following: 156601510 - Leica TCS SPE w. DMI 4000 CSQ V-VIS; 156605101 - TLD Kit Invers; 155933451 - DMI Optical Outfit DIC; 15555046 - IC Prism E; 11555017 - ICT-Condenser Prism K3; 155906961 - Anti-vibration Microscope Table; 15521524 - IC Condenser Prism K10; 15521522 - IC Condenser Prism K7; 11555009 - IC Prism C for objective; 15506512 - HCPLPO 10x/0.40 1mm; 156605702 - Second Monitor for SPE-II; 156605400 - Leica TCS SPE Climate Chamber DMI4000CSQ; 156605600 - TCS SPE CO2 Control Set 115/230V; 15506326 - HC PL APO 20x/0.70 IMM CORR CS; 12555006 - IC Prism A; 156022205 - LAS AF SPE1000 3D-Visualisation; 156022208 - LAS AF SPE1000 Dye Finder; 156605602 - CO2 Super Z Stage Incub + Con 115/230V; 11504162 - Filter system A4 ET, k; 11504166 - Filter system L5 ET, k; 11504170 - Filter system TX2, ET, k. Leica Microsystems, Inc. has been determined to be the only business to provide the instrument and supplies needed for the research group at NIH investigating the cellular and molecular mechanisms of mammalian development. See attached Justification for Other than Full and Open Competition for basis of sole source. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability. Respond to this requirement by submitting written capabilities / specifications to the Contracting Specialist at the address provided. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, all responses received within 9 days from the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract action based upon responses to this notice is solely with the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. If no affirmative responses are received within 9 days of this notice to determine whether a qualified source is more advantageous to the Government, the order will be issued to Leica Microsystems Inc. The NAICS Code/Size is 333314/500 employees. This procurement is to be processed using Simplified Acquisition Procedures in FAR 13.5 - Test Program for Certain Commercial Items in conjunction with FAR Part 12 Commercial Item Acquisition of Commercial Items.
