- Description
- The M160 Light Flail Robotic System is an anti-mine robotic system that fulfills the requirement described in Army Area Clearance Family of Systems Capability and Production Document, dated April 2007. The M160 system, sustainment parts, and training are currently provided under contract N61339-07-D-0012. The contract currently provides for a maximum of 40 systems and sustainment parts at a ceiling of $45M. The purpose of this synopsis is as follows: 1)The Government is increasing the maximum quantity of systems by 25, from 40 to 65, based on the new validated Operational Need Statement/Joint Urgent Operational Need Statements (ONS/JUONS) and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) orders. 2) Increasing the total contract ceiling amount by $20M from $45M to $65M due to increased requirements based on ONS/JUONS and FMS orders. 3) The current action will also extend contract expiration date from 30 September 2010 to 31 December 2011 to allow for continued sustainment support to urgent theater requirements.
