Description
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) National Centers for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion, Healthy Aging Program, contemplates a sole source award to the American Association for International Aging, Albuquerque, NM. The contractor shall analyze how American Indians and Alaska Natives (AIAN) age in place. The contractor will use the National Center for Health Statistics Mortality Data and Census Data from 1990 and 2000, for the development of a literature review. Information collected from Data Set, Medicaid and Medicare data shall focus on AIAN's race and ethnicity. The review will result in findings related to the causes of death and the methodological issues surrounding the data collection analysis. The period of performance shall be for one (1) year beginning with award of the contract. Award is scheduled for September 1, 2010. The contractor shall provide all labor, materials, supplies and other incidental services necessary to complete the project. Performance shall be at the Contractor's facility. This requirement is not set aside for small businesses. It is being procured applying simplified acquisition procedures in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) Part 13. The sole source authority is found under FAR 13.106-1(b). The circumstances of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available. American Association for International Aging is the only available source with the required experience to provide the services. CDC is not requesting competitive proposals and no solicitation is available. Firms that believe they can provide the services required are encouraged to identify themselves and give written notification to the Contracting Officer no later than 4:00 PM Eastern Standard Time, August 25, 2010. Determination not to compete this proposed action based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a future competitive procurement. Respondents will assume all financial costs for preparing a response to this notice. The U.S. Government assumes no financial obligation for the preparation and distribution of prepared responses. Inquiries may be sent to Maria Nichols, by Email at mkn2@cdc.gov or by fax to 770-488-2778.
