Description

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), BRD, Las Vegas Field Station, has a requirement for Services, Non - Personal, to provide all necessary tools, equipment, personnel, and management to provide the refurbishment of 16 GPS Telemetry Collars for placement on Mountain Lions in the Lake Mead National Recreation Area. The Government intends to award this requirement noncompetitively IAW FAR 12 and 13.106-1(b),(1) to Telonics, Inc. The USGS has deployed and is currently using purchased Telonics GPS Collars (Model number TGW-4580), that is also being used with accessory support equipment and specialized programming and data processing software. Telonics, Inc., equipment has been custom built to meet the USGS specifications and requirements, and our internal and existing software systems have been designed specifically to be compatible and interface with the Telonics Inc., GPS and existing sensor data formats. To change equipment suppliers at this time would involve retraining personnel in the use of the equipment and support software and rewriting internal software. Other interested concerns having the ability to furnish these services shall submit a capabilities statement to the Contracting Officer no later than the closing date of this announcement. All submissions will be evaluated to determine if competitive opportunities exist. This is NOT an RFQ. This does represent the Government's only written notice of this procurement. All responsible sources may submit a response which, if timely received, must be considered by the agency. This notice and any resulting contract or order conforms to the requirements in place through FAC 05-44 (effective 08 JUL 2010). All questions regarding this procurement shall be in writing, and addressed to Cheryl Fitch at cfitch@usgs.gov no later than 08/24/2010.
