Description
The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS), Research Triangle Park, NC intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Leica Biosystems Richmond, Inc., Richmond, IL 60071 pursuant to 41 U.S.C.253(c)(1)--Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This procurement is a Stereotaxic Instrument consisting of one (1) each of the following: #39464610 Angle Two Stereotaxic Instrument w/Mouse Atlas Product; #39464682 Software for Angle Two; #39463011 Rat Adapter Kit w/45 d Non-Puncture Earbars; #39464678 Video Microscope for Angle Two; #39462901 Nanoinjector, Stepper Motorized; #39464023 Gas Anesthesia Adapter for Rat; and #39462948 Gas Adapter Plate for Adult Mice. System is required to secure anesthetized animals during brain surgery using a 3D coordinates system. System must include digital angling, internal trigonometry function, and fine drive on the vertical axis. System must accept input from 5 sensors and the target coordinates in Skull Flat and Bregma standard references can be referenced in the on-screen atlas. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability. Respond to this requirement by submitting written capabilities / specifications to the Contracting Specialist at the address provided. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, all responses received within 8 days from the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract action based upon responses to this notice is solely with the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. If no affirmative responses are received within 8 days of this notice to determine whether a qualified source is more advantageous to the Government, the order will be issued to Leica Biosystems Richmand, Inc. The NAICS Code/Size is 334516/500 Employees. This procurement is to be processed using Simplified Acquisition Procedures in conjunction with FAR Part 12 Commercial Item Acquisition of Commercial Items.
