Description
SUBJECT: SUPPLY OF THREE 10 AUTOMATIC SELF-CLEANING STRAINERS FOR CARTER PUMPED STORAGE FACILITY, CHATSWORTH, GA The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District is seeking to award a firm-fixed priced contract to provide Three 10 Automatic Self-Cleaning Strainers that will be supplied to Carters Pumped Storage Facility(CESAM-OP-CA) in Chatsworth, GA. The strainers are needed to replace three self-cleaning strainers that are no longer operational. Brief Scope/General Characteristics - The offeror shall submit a proposal for the supply and delivery of three 10 150# Flange Eaton Model #2596 Self-Cleaning Strainers with Aurora Model 340 Backwash Pump or approved equal. The self-cleaning strainers will be installed in our raw water cooling system. The strainers will be installed directly before a pump delivering 1800 GPM to the system. Lake water will be run through the strainers. Leaves, small fish, and large stick size debris are routinely found in our existing strainers. Operating pressure of the strainers will be no greater than 5 PSI. Operating temperature of the water is approximately 50F. The area where each strainer will be installed will accept a strainer no larger than 39 flange to flange, 65 in height, and 90 of space required for removal of cover. The new strainer must be able to operate in the above environment and include the specifications below. Strainer body material shall be cast ductile iron ASTM SA 395 Strainer cover material shall be cast ductile iron ASTM SA 395 Inlet and outlet connections shall be 10 inch 150# flanged The strainer body shall have a 2 FF Flange backwash connection with an electrically operated, brass body 2 backwash valve with TFE seats/seals The strainer body shall have a 2 NPT drain and a 1 NPT drain Straining element shall be a one piece design constructed of stainless steel Straining element shall have 1/8 perforations The strainer shall have a rotating electrical motor driven backwash assembly The strainer must employ some type of backwash assist to properly backwash he strainer basket The motor shall be 230V 3 phase 60Hz HP The strainer shall have fully ACS-3 automatic controls Controls shall be housed in a NEMA 4 aluminum electrical enclosure Controls shall include a motor starter for the backwash drive motor Controls shall include indicator lights Controls shall be user selectable Controls shall include a differential pressure switch and backwash valve with electric actuator Contract performance shall be completed in accordance with contract schedule indicated below. The Contractor shall commence work under this contract no later than 10 calendar days after award. Place of Delivery: Equipment and materials supplied under this contract shall be delivered f.o.b. transport truck to: U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Carters Pumped Storage Facility (CESAM-OP-CA), 975 Powerhouse Road, Chatsworth, GA 30705, Phone 706-334-2640. Deliveries are to be made Monday - Thursday between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Eastern Time. Any product found defective will be returned unaccepted to the contractor for replacement. WARRANTY: All products shall be warranted against defects in material and workmanship under normal use and service for which such products were designed for a period of eighteen (18) months after shipment from the factory or twelve (12) months after start up, whichever comes first. This solicitation is set aside for Small Business under NAICS 333999.
