- Description
- The Social Security Administration (SSA) is attempting to indentify responsible vendors that are capable of providing a Bed Bug Heat Treatment Oven. The minimum requirements for the Bed Bug Heat Treatment Oven are: •Self-contained heating cabinet •Insulated cabinet uses 2 electric heating elements and a gentle forced air system; all controlled by a pre-programmed digital controller •Uses 110 vac (15 amps) and can be plugged into most outlets without special wiring •Digital controller shall maintain the proper temperature (+/-5ºF) •Pre-programmed digital controller allows for a low temperature (120ºF) and high temperature (150ºF) cut off limits and a set point of 130ºF •Two battery-powered digital thermometers that can be placed in items being treated to ensure that the proper temperature (115ºF) has been reached •Case shall be a heavy-duty, all steel wardrobe cabinet mounted on locking casters for mobility •Outside cabinet dimensions: 72" H X 72" W X 72" D •Inside of the unit shall have a clothes hanging bar in one-half of the cabinet and a series of removal shelves in the other half •The shelves and the center divider must be perforated to allow for greater heat transfer •Back and sides of the unit are insulated with 1/2" thick, foil faced semi rigid fiberglass panels. The insulation seams and joints must be foil taped for safety and convenience. •The heating elements and blower unit are mounted to the base of the unit and protected by a metal grill. This notice serves as a Sources Sought Synopsis seeking information from SMALL BUSINESS CONCERNS, which may be capable of providing this product. Information received from other than small business sources will not be considered. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this requirement is 333994. The small business size standard for this NAICS code is 500 employees. Interested SMALL BUSINESS CONCERNS that believe they have the capability to meet the above requirements are invited to submit complete details. The responses must include capability statements and information describing in full detail how their product provides the ability to meet the above requirements. Interested parties must e-mail their capability statements to Angela.Lee@ssa.gov. Responses must be received no later than 2:00 PM, EDT on Tuesday, August 17, 2010. Telephone calls regarding this matter will not be accepted, nor will they be returned. Requests for copies of a solicitation will not be honored or acknowledged. The Government will not pay for, nor will it return, any information received. This is neither a Request For Proposal (RFP) nor an announcement of a forthcoming solicitation. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether or not any small business firms have the ability and capability to provide a product that meets the above requirements.
