Description
This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) page located at http://www.fbo.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line (NECO) site located at https://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Naval Sea Systems Command. Note: The Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Division Newport, Rhode Island is NOT accepting quotes or proposals via submission through NECO. The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport, RI requires technical services for the Remote Environmental Measuring Units (REMUS) Unmanned Undersea Vehicles (UUV). This tasking is to refresh and update the basic functionality of REMUS UUV systems (Current REMUS variants include the: REMUS 100, 600, 1500, and 3000 variants). This tasking will also take the form of engineering services for technical analysis and evaluation, software and hardware modifications, preparation of engineering drawings and documentation, hardware configuration control, software configuration management, installation and testing of upgrades, and training. These software and hardware modifications will be integrated into existing Navy-owned REMUS UUVs. The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport, RI anticipates a five-year, Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) Cost Plus Fixed Fee (CPFF) contract. A proposed sole source action with Hydroid Inc of Pocasset, MA is anticipated. Hydroid Inc owns the exclusive rights to manufacture and service REMUS vehicles for the open market. The estimated Level of Effort is for Each year ™s quantity for the services is estimated to be 25,800. NAICS Code is 334511; size standard is 750 employees. The solicitation is expected to be released on or about 9/8/2010.
