- Description
- The FCBRE was established in December 2007 for the purpose of addressing current and future community workforce needs of Frederick County and Fort Detrick. Fort Detrick is a founding member of FCBRE that was signed by Colonel Mary R. Deutsch. Because the requirement is for yearly membership in this organization. Membership to this organization fosters and promotes the educational needs of the local community. This is a unique partnership with 3 distinct programs, Future Link (a career exploration conference for 10th graders), Student internships ( for high school seniors and College students residing in Frederick County), and Teacher Externships (a summer program for teachers to work in the Frederick County business sector). This business partnership with Frederick County Public Schools will provide ideas, perspective and real-world experiences that increase opportunities for students and help prepare the next generation of business leadership in our community.Member contributions will provide financial resources to underwrite the cost of this program, allowing staff to direct, facilitate, and support business involvement and ensure positive results. In addition to financial support, contributing members may volunteer time and expertise in helping students prepare for the world of work. Most importantly, the business community will be articulating a strong message of the importance of diverse educational backgrounds, various skill sets, and other industry information to the student. If you wish to provide this service or dispute the award you can contact John Niziolek at 301-619-1348.
