Description
The Naval Air Systems Command intends to solicit and negotiate a fixed price sole source modification with The Boeing Company, St. Louis, MO for obsolescence mitigation of the Advanced Mission Computer (AMC) for the F/A-18 E/F and EA-18 aircraft. Tasking will include support of initial government laboratory integration and delivery of AMC Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) assets and an Operational Flight Program (OFP) test tape. This procurement may include a negotiated FY12 option for the incorporation of the AMC into the F/A-18 E/F and EA-18G aircraft and support of government flight test, delivery of additional AMC EMD assets, and update of the AMC Detailed System/Subsystem WRA specification. This acquisition is being pursued on a sole source basis under the statutory authority 10 USC 2304(C)1 as implemented by FAR 6.302-1, 'Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.' Boeing is the designer, developer and manufacturer of the F/A-18 and E/A-18G aircraft, and as such, is the only known firm with the knowledge, experience and technical expertise required to produce these aircraft. This is an announcement only regarding a sole source acquisition. Companies interested in subcontracting opportunities should contact R. Padavan at 314-777-9377 at The Boeing Company. See Numbered Note 22.
