Description
Solicitation W911RZ-10-T-0229 Amendment 0002 The purpose of this amendment is to update the Solicitation as outlined below: A.)The following information was discussed at the site visit on 18 August 2010. All of the trees that are to be relocated will be placed in the same general location on Pershing Field. All trees will be numbered and marked, as well as the site of relocation. All irrigation and sprinkler heads will be marked. Exact design and locations will be given to awardee, and awardees will be given a map of the relocation site. B.)The following question(s) were asked at the site visit on 18 August 2010: Q: Can we dig a hole at the tree farm to store trees for staging? A: No. Trees need to be transplanted one at a time, stock piling of trees is not allowed. The distance of relocation is reasonably short and thus does not justify the stockpiling of trees. Stockpiling of trees opens up the potential to damage of the root balls of trees and can harm the tree. C.)The following information has been added to the solicitation: Contractors are to transplant trees with care using the correct equipment. In order to ensure that trees are properly transplanted it is required that the 17 upright Junipers between 12 to 18 feet are moved using nothing less than a 90 inch tree spade. The 16 upright Junipers that are 6 to 9 feet are to be moved using nothing less than a 65 inch tree spade. After a tree has been removed from a tree farm, contractors are required to plug the remaining hole with dirt. The closing date of this solicitation has been extended from 20 August 2010 at 2:00pm to 23 August 2010 at 2:00pm. All other terms and conditions remain unchanged.
