Description
This is a notice of intent, not a request for a proposal. A solicitation document will not be issued and proposals will not be requested. The National Institute on Drug Abuse, Office of Acquisitions-Neuroscience, Station Support/Simplified Acquisition (SS/SA) on behalf of the National Institute of Aging (NIA) intends to negotiate and award a purchase order on a sole source, noncompetitive basis to Illumina, Inc. 9885 Towne Center Drive, San Diego, CA 92121-1975 for the purchase of the following items: (1) PhiX Control Kit, (2) TruSeq SBS Kit – HS (200 Cycles), (3) HiSeq Paired End Cluster Generation Kit and (4) HumanOmni2.5-Quad v1.0 DNA Analysis BeadChip Kit. The Illumina whole exome sequencing and genotyping reagents have been specially designed and optimized to run on the Illumina equipment currently in use by NIA. These reagents are proprietary to Illumina and no other manufacturer provides these specific reagents and kits. The acquisition is being conducted under simplified acquisition procedures using FAR Part 13 and is exempt from the requirements of FAR Part 6, Competition Requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this synopsis. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely with the discretion of the Government. Comments to this announcement, referencing synopsis number 1740601 may be submitted to the NIDA Station Support/Simplified Acquisitions Brach, 31 Center Drive, Bldg. 31, Room 1B59, Bethesda, Maryland 20892-2080 to the Attention of Korriise LaRoche, Contract Specialist.
