- FISC San Diego Regional Contracting Department is announcing its intent to issue a solicitation in accordance with FAR Par 12 and 13.5 for Aviation/Maritime grade metals. The Navy has a requirement for aluminum, titanium, stainless steel, steel, beryillium copper, aluminum bronze, brass, carbon steel, monel, other miscellaneous metals and some plastic materials. This raw stock will be procured in various shapes (plates, sheets, bar, rod, extrusions, rod, hex) lengths, dimensions, and thicknesses. There is also a requirement for sizing and cutting services. There is an estimated 518 different types of material that are being grouped into five groups. The Government intends to make multiple awards for Firm Fixed Price Indefinite Quantity Delivery order contracts. The Government anticipates competing orders at the delivery order level among contractors that are awarded an IDTC contract. The requirement is for a base period and two one year options. The users of the contracts will be the Naval Region Southwest, with the primary users being the Fleet Readiness Center-SW and the Southwest Regional Maintenance Center-SW. Ordering and payment will be performed by authorized Government ordering officers with Purchase Card authority. The primary delivery location will be San Diego, CA 92135 and 92136. The anticipated start of performance is 11-1-2010. Offerors shall provide a proposal in accordance with the SF1449 commercial solicitation/contract/order form to be issued at the close of this synopsis period. Offerors shall provide data/documentation to enable the Government to evaluate technical capability, quality/qualification, past performance and pricing. Offerors shall deliver complete proposal responses in a paper copy format and via electronic (email) format by the designated closing date and time. The applicable NAICS is 423510, business size is 100 employees. This requirement is set aside for small business with no specific small business classification identified. This synopsis is issued effective August 19, 2010 and will close on September 2, 2010. The solicitation document, amendments and any applicable attachments will be available for viewing and downloading at the following website: www.neco.navy.mil on or about September 3, 2010. The solicitation period will close on 4:00 PM, PST, October 4, 2010. This notice is issued as restricted. Contact Ralph A.
