Description
JC #2: Skylight Removal and Hatch Replacement Pursuant to the clause of the contract entitled Changes, provide all plant, labor, material and equipment to remove the existing skylight in the roof and replace with an access hatch similar to the existing hatch on the other side of the facility. Install on the wall leading up to the new roof hatch and access ladder meeting current safety standards. JC #3: Wage Rate Difference Pursuant to the clause of the contract entitled Changes, remove the existing wage determination from the contract and replace with MA2 dated 6/4/2010. JC #9: Vertical Caulking Joints Pursuant to the clause of the contract entitled Changes, remove and replace the existing vertical caulk joints at the junctures of the larger main building and the two smaller building extensions on the east and west ends of the building. JC #10: Caulking Horizontal Building Joints Pursuant to the clause of the contract entitled Changes, install caulking located at the three open, continuous horizontal joints above the windows at each of the three floors. The removal (abatement) of the existing caulking which is asbestos containing (ACM) is to be removed (abated) separately under a different contract. JC #11: Weep-Hole Cleaning Pursuant to the clause of the contract entitled Changes, provide all plant, labor material and equipment to clean out all clogged weep holes in the brick faade. Work shall include cleaning out the weeps with a drill bit and the installation of plastic tubes where required. JC #12: Tree Removal Pursuant to the clause of the contract entitled Changes, provide all plant, labor material and equipment to cut down the small apple tree immediately adjacent to the building and grind down the stump flush with adjacent grade. JC #13: Window Sill Caulking Pursuant to the clause of the contract entitled Differing Site Conditions, provide all plant, labor material and equipment to remove and replace the existing deteriorated caulk below all windows. JC #4: The brick facade has bowed out in 4 areas of Building 697. The areas are 85sf on top of the SW side of the main building from the roof top down to the 3rd floor window lintel; 48sf in the middle section of the South side of the main building from the roof top down to the 3rd floor lintel; 852sf on the SE side of the main building from the roof top down to the top of the second floor window; and 19 sf on the NE main building from the top of the roof down to the top of the 3rd floor window lintel. The work entails removing the existing brick and replacing with new brick and mortar and necessary anchoring and hardware. JC #5: Nine (9) window lintels need to be replaced where the brick facade is bowing IAW JC #4. These lintels on the 3rd floor are not continuous like the lower levels and only provide a 1-3 inch bearing surface on the corner bricks. This lack of bearing has caused the bricks to crack. The lintels will be painted similar to the other building lintels per the contract. JC #6: When the contract was negotiated only repointing of the mortar was discussed and included in the contract. Brick replacement was not discussed nor included. A survey was done with the Corps and the contractor and it was determined that 418 bricks needed to be replaced because of either deterioration or cracking. JC #7: Reduce the amount of repointing of the mortar by 3,230 which has been field verified that is not needed. JC #8: This proposal requested management time and costs for the additional masonry work that is needed in JC #4. The contractor requested time for both the Project Manager (PM) and the Superintendent. Extra time for the PM was agreed upon but reduced from 80 hours to 40 hours. The Super's time was deleted since the interior contract will be concurrent. There is no contract time extension for this change and it is in cluded in JC #4. Only costs are included in this change.
