Description
The Naval Medical Logistics Command intends to negotiate on a sole source basis (IAW FAR 13.106-1) with Maquet Inc, 45 Barbour Pond Rd, Wayne, NJ 07470, as the only responsible source capable of providing PRX 4001, FDA approved surgical lights for the USS Harry S Truman. Specifically, the PRX 4001 surgical lights are the only lights that can interface with the existing infrastructure/foundation of the ship. The choice of any other manufacturer will result in need for a modification in the ships existing infrastructure. Also, shock securing mechanism at “sea use” exists in the ships structure for the PRX 4001 surgical lights therefore only the PRX 4001 is compatible with the existing shock securing mechanism onboard. The PRX 4001 is on Authorized Medical Allowance List (AMAL) and approved by Fleet TYCOM. This acquisition is being conducted under simplified acquisition procedures (IAW FAR 13.5). There are no set-aside restrictions for this requirement. The intended procurement will be classified under North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) 334510 with a Small Business Size Standard of 500 employees. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation document exists for this requirement. However, parties interested in responding to this notice shall submit technical data, including cost, sufficient to determine capability in providing the same product. All capability statements received by closing of this notification of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Submit email capability statements (using PDF or MS Word) to Amanda Heller at amanda.heller@med.navy.mil. Statements are due not later than 12:00 NOON EST on 26 September 2010. No phone calls will be accepted.
