- Description
- The Fleet and Industrial Supply Center, San Diego intends to award a Sole Source Firm Fixed Price contract to Vicon Motion Systems, Inc. The Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) has a requirement for a Vicon MX Cameras and a Vicon MX Giganet. NPS needs six more cameras to add to the current fleet of ten Vicon Motion Capture cameras in operation. The first camera (Vicon MX Cameras) is a MX-T10 Camera with 1.0 megapixel resolution up to 250 frames per second, electronic freeze shutter, 2D tracking, and Gigabit Ethernel data communications. The second product is a Vicon MX Giganet which provides power, synchronization, and data transfer for up to 10 MX Cameras, digital reference video cameras, and GigaBit Ethernet communication from the cameras to the computer, all in a single unit. It also includes cableS to connect to the existing MS system. The entire system of sixteen cameras should work as one homogenous system of cameras for motion capture in the workplace. Therefore, it is crucially important that the additional six cameras be compatible and technically comparable with the current system of ten Vicon cameras. The new cameras should work with the software package Blade (from Vicon) that is currently operating the existing ten cameras. Any other vendors ™ cameras are not guaranteed to be compatible with the current system used. The proposed contract action is for commercial supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 6.302-1. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals.
