Description

The Fleet and Industrial Supply Center, Jacksonville (FISC JAX) has a requirement for upgrading the four (4) existing EC2000 Automated Eddy Current Inspection Systems. The contractor shall upgrade the existing Eddy Current Inspection Systems from the EC2000 configuration to the A3200 configuration ensuring that all hardware and software is compatible and that all required inspections are capable of being performed. Three of the systems are located in building 794 at Fleet Readiness Center Southeast (FRCSE) and one of the systems is currently located at GE ™s Quality Technology Center (QTC) in Evendale, OH. FISC intends to award as a sole source order against Blanket Ordering Agreement (BOA) SPRTA1-09-G-0004 to General Electric Company (DBA: GE), GS-Aviation, 1 Neumann Way, Cincinnati, OH. The contractor shall also upgrade computers to use the Aerotech A3200 Controller and the manipulators for the A3200 Controller. That contractor shall provide labor and material required to complete the upgrades, Remote Diagnostic, Remote Scan Plan updates and a common library. Please see the attachment for applicable requirements. Work under this task will be performed in Jacksonville, FL aboard the Naval Air Station Jacksonville at the FRCSE as well as GE ™s QTC facility. The period of performance will be from the date of this agreement through twelve (12) months thereafter. Interested firms are requested to submit a capability statement outlining their ability to meet or exceed this potential requirement no later than 2:00pm (Eastern Standard Time), Tuesday, 24 August 2010 stating their business size, as well as a point of contact. The government will use the results of this announcement to determine whether the acquisition of the above described requirement should be issued as a sole source or solicited as a small business set-aside, or whether full and open competition procedure should be utilized. The Government will not pay or provide reimbursement for any costs incurred in the preparation or delivery of the request for information. This synopsis and any subsequent amendments will be posted to the NECO website: http://www.neco.navy.mil. Prospective offerors are responsible for downloading their own copy of the solicitation from this website and for frequently monitoring that site for any amendments. The Government is not responsible for any inability of the offeror to access the posted documents. No telephone or FAX requests will be accepted, and no hard-copy solicitation/amendment will be mailed or FAXed. If necessary, it is estimated that the solicitation will be available on or about 3 September 2010.
