- Description
- The USDA Forest Service, Gifford Pinchot National Forest, intends to acquire by contract the falling of 1000+ danger trees along Forest Road (FR) 23. The project will be along the 23 Road corridor, six miles long and approximately 300 feet beyond the road fog line. Trees will vary greatly in size with a number being greater than 30" DBH. This project is located within the Gifford Pinchot National Forest, on the Cowlitz Valley Ranger District in the State of Washington. It can be reached traveling east along US Highway 12 from the town of Chehalis, WA. In the town of Randle go south on SR 131 which will turn in to FR 232. The project will start at milepost 3.1 on FR 23 near the Spears Road junction and finish at milepost 9.1 on FR 23 and the junction of FR 28. A solicitation for this project work, following the procedures of FAR Part 12 - Acquisition of Commercial Items, will be made available on this web site on or about August 27, 2010. The anticipated period for performance will be 30 days from issuance of a Notice to Proceed, which is anticipated to be issued on or about September 13, 2010. This acquisition is 100 percent set-aside for Small Businesses concerns. The NAICS Code for this procurement is 115310 with a applicable size standard of $7.0 million. Offerors will be evaluated on price, experience, past performance and other factors. A single contract will be awarded to the offeror whose offer, conforming to the solicitation, is the best value to the government. All responsible sources may submit an offer which will be considered by the government. In accordance with FAR 4.1102(a), prospective contractors must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database prior to award of a contract. Lack of registration in the CCR on the part of the offeror will render an offeror ineligible for award.
