- Description
- The Space and Naval Warfare SystemsCommand (SPAWAR) in support of theProgram Executive Office forCommand, Control, Communications,Computers, and Intelligence (PEOC4I), Communication Program Office(PMW/A 170) seeks a Battle ForceTactical Network (BFTN) system that willoffer Line-Of-Sight (LOS) andExtended-Line-Of-Sight (ELOS) networkconnectivity for ships, submarines, aircraft, and naval shore via the HighFrequency (HF) and Ultra HighFrequency (UHF) radio spectrum. TheBFTN system uses a Commercial-Off-the-Shelf (COTS) hardware solutionand Government-Furnished Equipment(GFE) software to provide networkedRadio Frequency (RF) data connectivityover HF (BFTN/HF) and UHF(BFTN/UHF), as an intra-force adjunctfor long haul communications. BFTN provides integration capabilitiesfor robust Internet Protocol (IP)connectivity across the Secret InternetProtocol Routing Network (SIPRNET)and Combined Enterprise RegionalInformation Exchange System-Maritime(CENTRIXS-M) systems. Thisconnectivity allows the BFTN system toprovide platform (surface andsubmarine) connectivity when satellitecommunications (SATCOM) links areunavailable. The Program Officerequires the procurement, installation, and integration of the BFTN system. As depicted in the attachedspecification the BFTN system consistsof a terminal, two (2) SubNet Relay(SNR) Controllers, two (2) HighFrequency (HF) IP Controllers, two (2)High Frequency (HF) Modems, two (2)SubNet Relay (SNR) Modems, one (1)High Stability Time Base unit, and two(2) Compact Peripheral ComponentInterconnect (CPCI) Blade Servers. The Government will also provide theoperating software as GFE.
