Department of Veterans AffairsMemorandum Date: August 23, 2010 From:Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Office of Acquisition Logistics and Construction (OALC), Center for Acquisition Innovation - Austin (CAI-Austin) Subject:Request for Quotations in Response to Solicitation NumberVA798A-10RQ-0303, Fire Pump Testing and Inspection Services To:Interested Parties 1.Attached is Request for Quotation (RFQ) VA798A-10-RQ-0303. This requirement is for Weekly / Monthly / Quarterly and Annual fire pump inspection and testing at the VA Records Center and Vault (RC&V) located in Neosho, Missouri. 2.The Department of Veterans Affairs intends to award a firm fixed price contract for routine inspection and testing of the following non-VA owned fire pump equipment: "Fire Pump Manufacturer: Aurora Model 481, Size 5-481-11C, 1000 GPM, 120 PSI, 3560 PRM, Serial #01-249115 "Motor Manufacturer: Marathon, 100 HP, 3550 RPM, 120 FLA, 460 V. Serial #8850-1/8-02 "Controller Manufacturer: Joslyn Clark, Model 10630, Serial #208612-01 3.The Period of Performance is: 1 October 2010 ~ 30 September 2011. This requirement includes four (4) twelve (12) month Option Periods to be exercised at the discretion of the Government. 4.All inspections/testing must be done by qualified technicians in compliance with applicable National Fire Protection Act (NFPA) codes and Standards in its entirety. Inspection and testing of the fire pump, auxiliary equipment and related electrical system shall be performed as indicated in NFPA 25, Table 8.1 and Chapter 8.3.2 (weekly tests) and 8.3.3 (annual tests.) Additional inspections and tests shall be performed in accordance with NFPA 25, Table 8.5.2 Vendor to supply technician qualification/certification upon request. 5.Vendors new to the RC&V must schedule a visit with the On-Site Manager prior to bidding on contract. 6.Responses must be received, in accordance with Section E of the following Combined Synopsis/Solicitation, by Friday, September 3, 2010. Any questions concerning this solicitation should be submitted to the Contracting Specialist in writing or by e-mail. The deadline for submission of questions regarding this solicitation is August 27, 2010. No additional questions will be accepted after that date. 7.Thank you for your interest in serving America's heroes. We look forward to working with you to make this acquisition a success.
