Description
Z- Pine Grove Jackleg Fence on the Lincoln Ranger District of the Helena National Forest Project Location: T15N, R9W, Sections 33 (see map). Go approximately 2 miles west of Lincoln, MT on Highway 200 towards Missoula. Turn North on County Road #4106. Go approximately 5 miles to the Forest Boundary. Description of Work: The contract will provide all necessary materials, equipment, tools, transportation, labor, and supervision to construct approximately 2,860 feet of fence. The fence will be a 4-Rail Jackleg Fence with 1 rail on the inside, 3 rails on the outside, and 2 metal gates (one 6ft, and one 12ft). Two cattle guards and 2 walk through gates allso needed to access the creek. The Jackleg fence, on the outside, will have rail spacing from the ground at 14", 30" and 40" respectively and 1 rail on the inside. Jacklegs shall be placed 10 feet apart with 12 ft rails. Magnitude of Construction is $25,000 - $100,000 Additional Specifications: Contractor is required to provide, haul and secure all fencing materials to the project site. The right-of-way shall be cleared not over 10 feet for easy access both for construction and maintenance. Slash from clearing shall be looped and scattered off the right-of-way. Remove logs and other obstacles in the fence line. Fell dead or leaning trees which may later fall across the fence. Work shall begin in the fall of 2010 with a 60 day completion time.
