- Description
- The USDA NRCS in New York is preparing to issue a solicitation for work authorized under the Emergency Watershed Protection Program due to recent heavy rain with resultant flooding conditions. This channel grade and bank stabilization work is to relieve imminent hazards to life and property. The work consists of site dewatering, erosion and sediment control, installation of approximately 480 linear feet of sloped rock riprap, fifteen (15) rock riprap chevron shaped flow concentrators (CSFC) for grade stabilization, subsurface drainage, earthfill and seeding and plantings to stabilize the stream bed and banks along Spring Brook channel in the Village of Springville, Erie County, New York. All rock shall be a minimum of medium to heavy stone fill and the work is classified as heavy construction. A bid guarantee of 20% of the bid price will be required with any bid. Performance and Payment Bonds in the amount of 100% will be required within 7 calendar days of award of contract. The location of the work sites will be within the flooded areas and as described in the solicitation. All necessary permits and land rights have been acquired. A firm-fixed price award is anticipated under the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. The solicitation package, construction drawings and specifications will be posted and available from this site on or before August 31, 2010. Anticipated date for bid opening will be on or about Thursday, September 30, 2010. A pre-bid site showing is being planned and information on date and time will be posted with the solicitation. Price range for this work is between $250,000 - $500,000. Maximum performance time is 36 calendar days.
