- Description
- The United States Geological Survey, Western Ecological Research Center (WERC), Box Springs Field Station in Riverside, California has a requirement for health evaluations of desert tortoises in the Fall 2010 and Spring 2011 field seasons. The desert tortoise (Gopherus agassizii) is a Federally- and State- listed threatened species. The contractor must hold a valid California Department of Fish and Game permit and must be named on both the Federal and State Fort Irwin Desert Tortoise Translocation Permits. The statement of work and additional specifications will be identified in the forthcoming solicitation. The Request for Quotation (RFQ), number 10WRQQ0281, will be made available through the Government-wide Point of Entry (GPE), in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) 5.102(a)(1), on or about 20 August 2010. The Government anticipates award of a commercial, Firm-Fixed Price type contract using the procedures of FAR 13.5 (Test Program) and the procedures of FAR Part 12, entitled, "Acquisition of Commercial Items." All firms must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database at www.ccr.gov, as well as, the Online Representations and Certifications Application (ORCA) to be considered for award. This notice and any resulting solicitation or contract conforms to the requirements in place through FAC 2005-43, effective 02 August 2010. This requirement is set-aside for small businesses. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 541690, Other Scientific and Technical Consulting Services, and the size standard is $7.0M.
