- NASA Ames Research Center is planning for the rehabilitation of Hangar One, ahistoric property located at Moffett Field, California. The hangar is currentlyundergoing environmental clean up to remove hazardous materials. The remediation ofenvironmental contamination and the removal of hazardous material are being undertaken bythe US Navy, as a Navy responsibility.At the conclusion of the Navys environmentalcleanup, the hangar will be returned to NASA as a structure free of hazardous materialsbut without the exterior siding, roof and windows. NASAs desire is to rehabilitate thehangar with new metal siding, restore the historic windows, install a new roof on theupper crown of the hangar and return the hangar to a state of usefulness. To date,funding has not been identified for this rehabilitation effort. This Request forInformation (RFI) is not a solicitation to perform the actual work. The RFI is to assistNASA with the knowledge of materials available on the market to design the rehabilitationwork. Vendors having the products necessary to meet or exceed the stated requirementsare invited to submit appropriate documentation, literature, brochures, and references. RFI NNA10DF64L, entitled Hangar OneMoffett Field Rehabilitation Project, Installationof Siding, Roof and Windows will be electronically posted separately with a fulldescription of the requirement and submittal requirements.No solicitation exists; therefore, do not request a copy of the solicitation. If asolicitation is released in the future it will be synopsized in FedBizOpps and on theNASA Acquisition Internet Service. It is the potential offerors responsibility tomonitor these sites for the release of any solicitation or synopsis.This synopsis is for information and planning purposes and is not to be construed as acommitment by the Government nor will the Government pay for information solicited.
