- This Pre-Solicitation Notice is being issued by the United States Army Corps of Engineers - Chicago District to inform interested/potential contractors of the District's imminent issue of an Invitation for Bids (IFB) to obtain restoration services for the EUGENE FIELD located in Chicago, IL. The Contractor will be responsible for all necessary plant, facilities, labor, transportation, materials and equipment to restore the natural features of the North Branch Chicago River and its riparian zone within the constraints of the current system. The main features of this product will be the demolition of existing utilities and pathways, the grading of a wetland depression, planting of the wetland depression with native species, construction of new paths, raising of the existing baseball fields, and the placement of riffles in the Chicago River. The classification code for this procurement is North American Industry System (NAICS) is 561730, with a business size in dollars of $7.0 million. COMPETITION FOR THIS ACQUISITION IS RESTRICTED TO SMALL BUSINESS CONCERNS. Interested bidders can download the Invitation for Bids Package from this Internet Site https://www.fbo.gov under Solicitation Number W912P6-10-B-0015. The solicitation will be available on the Internet on August 13, 2010. The due date for bids will be on September 16, 2010 by 2:00 p.m. Chicago Local Time. In order for contractors to conduct business with the Department of Defense, the contractor must provide registration information to the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) for free at http://www.ccr.gov. Request for solicitation packages made by telephone, fax or e-mail will not be honored.
