- This is a SOURCES SOUGHT notice. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Detroit District, is seeking potential firms that have the capability to provide crane inspection and repair services. The cranes are Government owned and maintained on the floating plants as well as other areas located at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. The inspections and service will be performed in accordance with contract terms and specification descriptions as ordered. All work is to be performed to the crane manufactures requirements as detailed in the service manuals for each crane, manufacturer specific training classes, and/or as noted in service bulletins. The cranes covered include, but are not limited to, two (2) Manitowoc 3900 Cranes S/Ns 391010 and 395097. Also included are several hydraulic boom cranes manufactured by Broderson, Grove, and Lorain and ranging in lift capacity from four (4) to fifteen (15) tons. The BPA will have a base year plus two option years. The estimated award date of the contract is September 15, 2010. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code is 811310, which has a size standard of $7,000,000 in average annual receipts. This is NOT a request for proposals. This announcement is for planning purposes only. In order to determine the extent of industry interest and experience in the requirement, interested contractors shall present the following information: a brief overview of the firm's capabilities including experience on projects similar in scope; and any socio-economic classification(s) (e.g., large business, small business, small disadvantaged business, etc.) as they relate to NAICS code 811310. Qualified companies are encouraged to respond. The response to this notice shall be in summary format and shall not exceed two (2) pages. Do NOT send an SF 330. No basis for claim against the Government shall arise as a result of a response to this sources sought or Government use of any information provided. The Government will not pay for information or comments provided and will not recognize any costs associated with submission of comments. Companies or individuals interested in responding are invited to submit their information via email only to Contracting at either Darryl.K.Williams@usace.army.mil or LRE-Quotes@usace.army.mil. All attachments must be provided in either Microsoft Word or Adobe Acrobat PDF format. Please send responses by no later than 2:00 PM local prevailing time at Detroit, MI on 20 Aug 2010.
