- Sole Source. The Mission and Installation Contracting Command Center-Yuma, Yuma Proving Ground (USAYPG), Arizona, intends to negotiate a firm-fixed price contract on a sole source basis with GENTEX, 324 Main Street, Simpson, PA 18407. Due to safety precautions, to insure effective communication, and for the form, fit and function, all helmets and helmet parts must be manufactured by the same vendor. If different parts are used from different vendor, the helmets will not be adequate to be used at the Military Free Fall School currently being used by Yuma Proving Ground. These microphones, earphones, communication cords, ear pads, and chin straps need to be manufactured by Gentex because the existing helmets are made by Gentex. This will be a commercial acquisition using simplified acquisition procedures for commercial items per FAR Part 12 and FAR Part 13. The North American Classification System (NAICS) code is 334310 with a standard size of 750 Employees. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirements or submit proposals. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOPALS. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
