- MARKET RESEARCH FOR SMALL BUSINESS FIRMS DUE BY 4:00 PM ON AUGUST 16, 2010 DESIGN-BUILD, REPLACE FIRE ALARM SYSTEM IN THE ST. ALBANS FEDERAL BUILDING, ST. ALBANS, VT THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE ONLY. This is not a solicitation or a request for proposal and no contract will be awarded from this notice. No solicitation or specifications are available at this time. The General Services Administration (GSA) New England is seeking 8(a), HUBZone, SDVO and Standard Small Businesses capable of performing a Design-Build fire alarm replacement in a two story building with approximately 61,564 square feet of office space. The firm shall demonstrate design and construction capabilities in an occupied building. The fire alarm system shall include voice alarm capabilities, ADA compatible notification, automatic and manual detection, and actuation of other building systems. Lead and asbestos abatement shall be anticipated. Engineering design services and subsequent construction will be performed at the St. Albans Federal Building in St. Albans, VT to provide sufficient information to allow informed evaluation and decision to ascertain if there is enough competition to solicit this requirement as an 8(a), HUBZone, SDVO or Standard Small Business Set-aside. The estimated cost range is between $250,000 and $500,000. The NAICS code for this service is 238210. The Small Business Size standard is $14 MILLION. Please respond to the following questions by 4:00PM on August 16, 2010, 2009. Failure to answer any of these questions may result in your firm not being considered as part of this market research. 1. Provide examples of projects of the same size and complexity performed within the past 5 years. Explain how you performed the fire alarm installation and asbestos/lead abatement simultaneously. 2. If this procurement is set aside for 8(a), HUBZone, SDVO Small Business or Standard Small Business, will your firm submit an offer? Specify which types of set-asides that your firm would submit an offer on. Submitted documentation will be utilized solely for the purpose of determining the potential capabilities of the respondent firms. This notice of intent is for the purpose of determining the availability of Contractors and not a request for competitive proposals. A Request for Proposal for this requirement will be determined at a later date.
