- Sandpoint Ranger District, Idaho Panhandle National Forests, Bonner County, Idaho. SOLICITATION INFORMATION: The purpose of this announcement is to make notice that the Forest Service contemplates releasing a Request for Quote numbered AG-02RC-S-10-0038 for the STRONG CREEK ROAD AND TRAIL STABILIZATION project. If a solicitation is released, it will be released through this FedBizOpps website and prospective offerors should visit FedBizOpps on or about August 21 to obtain a copy of the solicitation. All future information about this acquisition will be distributed soley through this website. This notice meets the requirements of FAR 5.201; however, the Forest Service reserves the right to not release a solicitation. This project is a total HUBZone SBC set-aside. The estimated price range for this acquisition is $25,000 to $100,000. DESCRIPTION: This project consists of adding and improving existing drainage features to reduce the amount of sediment going into Strong Creek along a popular ATV trail (Trail #444). It involves installing culverts, creating and re-establishing rolling dips and armoring outlet ditches. The work also entails leveling and improving the trailhead parking and moving or installing some barriers to establish a more defined trailhead. This includes re-aligning and restoring sections of trail, Seeding/Mulching abandoned trail after realigning, creating additional waterbars, and improving the trail in specific locations to meet standard trail specification. Additionally, the project includes similar work to the road prism from the junction to the trailhead to help stabilize the sediment along the road. LOCATION: The project starts on Auxor Road in Hope, Idaho at the junction with the access road to the city's municipal water storage tank. It continues onto National Forest System Lands to the trailhead where it continues for approximately 0.6 of a mile up the trail. The approximate start location is the North East Corner of Sec35 T57N R1E and continues into Sec 25 T57N R1E. The Latitude - Longitude Coordinates for the trailhead is 48°14'50" N - 116°17'39" W.
